“What kind of human creates his own policeman?” You will not force him to murder for you.” Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? Who watches the watchmen? Me. “Think of the deaths they have caused! Who are you to stop me?” “They would have killed his family!” The darkness lunged, and met resistance. “I am the Summoning Dark.” It was not, in fact, a sound, but had it been, it would have been a hiss. Seuss book in the fucking dark.Īnd he still resists the demon and avoids straight-up murdering anyone.because his own self-restraint is so powerful its become its own demon in his mind. He kicks their asses basically while citing a Dr. All the while screaming the words to Where's My Cow?. He fights through them, dwarves armed with heavy artillery and flamethrowers. And all Vimes cares about is that he's going to miss Young Sam's reading time. The dwarves had previously tried to kill his family. At one point he's trapped far from home, underground, cold and wet, with dozens of enemy dwarves seeking to take him down. It's been pushing at Vimes, and pushing and pushing and pushing. Everyone who has been possessed by it has quickly succumbed to its influence, tearing themselves and everyone around them apart. In the novel Thud!, Vimes has been fighting back an ancient demonic manifestation of violence and vengeance, the Summoning Dark, in his mind. So he makes sure that, no matter what, at 6 o'clock in the evening he'll be home to read his son's favorite book, Where's My Cow? to him. Vimes is determined not to neglect his family, and especially the infant Young Sam. Vimes himself grew up in squalor with an absent dad and a mother who worked herself to death. Brad Pitt in that really famous movie Spoiler for an entire classic film Why didn't I think of that first? They can be either really really scary or just really silly, even with the same character in the same scene.ĮDIT: I completely forgot about one of the best. Soul Eater runs on Superpowered Evil Sides and it's great. He does this towards the end of the manga as well. Because if Monev tries something: Vash will stop him. It says a lot about Vash's character, so does the fact he manages to stop himself but doesn't take his finger of the trigger. Vash (who is basically a goofy saint until this point) traumatising Monev until he's begging for mercy, then stamping the villain's face into the dirt without a word and putting a gun to his head and demanding to know why he deserves to live more than all the people he just killed is legitimately threatening. Even if they are breaking their moral codes, the villain is so evil it's almost worth it. They just lose their temper and are just willing to kill the villain because they want to. I like the Vash the Stampede, Kenshin Himura, Doctor Who way of doing it.

You don’t know how many times I pulled out that last desperate Beast form to beat a boss, and how hype it was when it worked! And after that turn, Megaman’s health will rapidly drop to 1 and will not allow recovery until after the battle. After this timer, you are allowed to go Beast again for 1 turn, except if you do, you lose control and Megaman will go automated like the Dark form from 4 and 5. The downside is that the form is on a 3 turn timer. Combined with the Cross System, which also changes Megaman’s element and abilities, you could use Cross Change and go Beast to decimate foes within a single turn with just a shitty chip that corresponds to the element. The exact abilities you gain depend on if you were playing Gregar or Falzar, but the general thing is higher fire rate, attack, speed, and the ability to use expend certain types of chips for special attacks. Spoilers for somethingĪlso worth mentioning are the Beast Forms in 6.įor those who don’t know, Megaman “Naruto-style” absorbs a cyberbeast and gains the ability to use its power.
